Fourth Week

"The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises. ..." Ec. 1:5

Time goes by very quickly! We have completed our fourth week here! Last Thursday  during the Bible study at their house, Eduardo stated that he was not sure of his salvation; therefore, Luis asked him if he wanted to say the prayer and he did. Then Arelis also said the prayer. We just praise the Lord about these two lives! They are attending church at Arelis home town because they like the music there. We are fine with that, as long as they are faithful attending a good church.

Saturday night was the couples' meeting. This time we separated the men and the women and had deep conversations about each other's needs. Both men and women opened up a lot. We are going to do the same thing again this Saturday. Luis preached in both churches on Sunday. Then we went to Francisco's house for lunch, along with Pastor Alejandro and his wife. Luz is such a great cook! Lunch was delicious. We were also invited to a birthday party for Alejandra's niece who turned two years old. It was pouring in the afternoon, and we almost did not go, but it had stopped raining by the time we got to the party. We had no problem getting back home in the dark.

Luis and Elizabeth had never been to this country. Since their country is land-locked, they have been enjoying the beach very much; however, we decided that they needed to see some different part of the country, so we took them to a three day trip to see a volcano and enjoy thermal water pools. It was a very nice break for all four of us. We had a tour of bubbling mud pots and also of a geophysical energy plant which provides 17% of the electric energy for the country. It is a great example of renewable energy. We are back in town now. Tonight we will go back to Eduardo and Arelis' house for Bible study.

Prayer requests:

  • Please keep praying for good health and protection from mosquito-transmitted diseases.
  • Pray for Walter and Yesenia, that she will get back from Nicaragua with their daughters soon.
  • Pray for all the people with whom we have shared, that the Lord will bring a great harvest in this little town.
  • Pray for protection for our family back home.

Thank you for your prayers!
Until next time...from the beach...
